Case study

A young client who suffered a catastrophic accident with serious acquired brain injury, was progressing well with rehabilitation, however, was suffering terribly with fatigue.

I worked with the client, the family and support staff around healthy eating, nutrition needs for this stage of life.  We spent time reviewing and improving meal timings and suitable snacks and forward planning. I worked closely with the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team around sleep hygiene and suitable rest points. The client went on to complete his college course and continue to progress with rehabilitation.

Case study

A client suffered a serious accident, with acquired brain injury and serious memory issues, was struggling to eat a healthy diet, had gained significant weight and was suffering from diabetes.

I worked with the client to implement suitable strategies to help aid the memory around food consumed, provided on-going support and training for the family and support staff. Provided suitable resources to assist the client and can report significant weight-loss and remission of diabetes.

Case study

A client who had suffered a serious road traffic accident and acquired brain injury, was struggling to eat, was concerned over the foods in their diet and required support.

I provided advice around the amount of foods needed to support the body to function properly, provided advice and information for them and their family, a meal guide and worked closely with Occupational Therapy to provide suitable recipes and information. The client since gained a weight, increased muscle mass and is maintaining at a healthy level.
